Covid-19 : Business Support 05.05.20 – Update 29
Self-employment Income Support Scheme
HMRC have launched an online tool for individuals to check if they are eligible for the self-employment income support scheme, available here. If you are eligible, the online tool will tell you the date you will be able to make a claim from and ask you to add your contact details. HMRC will use these to remind you when the online service will be available. If you are not eligible, you can ask HMRC to review this after you have used the online tool.
Claims for the scheme will be made through an online claim service which is set to open on 13th May 2020. However we understand that HMRC have been contacting individuals from today to give them a date to submit their claim. To submit a claim individuals will need their:
- Self-Assessment UTR
- National Insurance number
- Government Gateway user ID and password
- bank account number and sort code
Once a claim has been submitted, HMRC will advise straight away if the grant is approved and the full three month grant will be paid within 6 working days.
